When Kristen contacted me back in the early spring from Ontario, I knew her wedding was going to be fantastic. You could feel the excitement in her e-mails as she was preparing to marry Don. She was in the process of lining up an amazing vendor team for her big day and had the prettiest vision for a soft warm wedding colours, and a very pretty cake image in her mind. When they traveled home for a friends wedding, I was able to meet up with them and chat cake.
A very long time ago, Kristen and I played softball together and we went to high school together too. I am always so excited to see how the love story goes with friends from childhood, and this one didn’t disappoint!
Don was charming, the perfect complement to Kristen’s giant smile. When he mentioned he worked for M&M chocolates, I couldn’t help but get excited! A dream job! We planned out the cake flavours and finalize the design and then we waited for the big day.
Oceanstone Seaside Resort is a magical place. You drive along the Peggy’s Cove road and suddenly you are there, you wind down the driveway and arrive at the check in where you are greeted by the nicest of staff. Every time I deliver a cake, their chef meets me. It is the nicest venue with breathtaking views. For a June wedding, Kristen & Don hit the jackpot as the sun beamed in, and took our breaths away.
Chelsea Lee Flowers arrived with the blooms and the room was set. Her flowers were completely unbelievable. Soft, full, and sophisticated. The flowers featured garden roses and the most giant peonies I have ever laid my eyes on. Chelsea dressed the room amongst Make Merry rentals and suddenly the dining room was a charming pastel wedding site.
The entire day is so completely well photographed. Terri-lynn Warren photography captured every little detail! Check out the Groom’s cufflinks! I keep revisitng Terri-lynn’s blog post from this wedding as the images just sweep me away.
Congratulation Kristen & Don! I know you will hold forever dear the memories from this picture perfect wedding day.
Let them eat cake!
